Last year on this day, Freeport High School guidance counselor, Mari Baker had passed away after a 3 1/2 year battle with colon cancer. As a senior project my friend Lea and I had teamed up to honor her life. We've built birdhouses, talked with FHS Staff, students, and friends of Mari, and we got to sample her hobbies surfing, hiking, and biking.
* There is a couch and arm chair for the school library,that were purchased in her memory along with a new scholarship named after her.
Although she is gone, her memory still lives on. Rest In Peace, Mari.
