One of several apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this happened in the 16th century, 1530's. Our Lady appeared to a converted peasant, Juan Diego. She asked him to go to the Bishop and tell him she wanted a temple built at the top of the hill they were standing on. Watch the video for an important part of Mexico's history.

  • 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter (which means rock), and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.....So what church did Peter build???

  • @dollfaceEMI The Christian Church.

  • What---MrFBCBSALES---that could stand for Soupy couldn't it?--has quit just bashing me and now directs his comments to all us "horrible" Catholics who are endangering the world by bringing on the antiChrist? My goodness imagine that!

  • @dlazO109 i think most protestant and anti-catholic bigots either rip that chapter out of their bibles or buy a non-catholic version (which isn't the original)

  • The bible is a Catholic book whether you like it or not so to read it without Catholic glasses means you arent getting the full picture. Where in the Bible does it say to rely on the Bible alone anyway??? Scripture AND tradition is the way to go.

  • @napachild and im sure he didn't intend it to be torn apart for people's own benefits but w/e

  • Why would they "consult" the old, self professed homosexual, James Randi to comment on a Catholic relic? His "profession" is to be a charlatan and fool people with "magic". His opinion means nothing here. Why do these and other miracles (incorruptable saints, etc) only happen in the Catholic Church? Why do televised "evangelical" exorcisms always look fake or staged? Christ's Church hasn't changed in 2000 years. People have. The Church will have a final trial, just like Her Bride, Jesus.

  • Love this episode, one of the best

  • @DickCArbiter The voice of reason! First post that has made any good common sense! Thank you nephew!

And that's what the Bible says in 2 Thess 2:15 "... hold the traditions, which you have learned, whether by word or by our epistle."

The Bible says the pillar and bulwark of truth is the Church, not the Bible.

"But if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth. - 1 Tim 3:15

"... And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican." Matthew 18:15-17

  • @MrFBCBSALES The Pope's role, as it was for Peter, is to guide the community of Christ's faithful to safeguard them in the Truth.

The Church is not perfect, only God is perfect. The 1% of bad priests will have to answer to God. Saint Peter, the beloved Apostle of Jesus, denied Christ three times. Judas, who was handpicked by Jesus and who was in Jesus' inner circle, betrayed Him with a kiss. Jesus knows we are sinners, as we are all human. Only He is perfect. The Catholic Church will go on.

  • @MrFBCBSALES The authority conferred by Jesus on Peter is known as "power of the keys" (Mt 16:19) Saint Peter is the Pastor of the Universal Church. The Pope, and successor of Peter is the visible and perpetual foundation of unity among the bishops and among Christ's faithful. The Pope, The Bishop of Rome, by virtue his role as the Vicar of Christ and as Pastor of the entire Church, has full, supreme and universal authority. The Pope's role, as it was for Peter, is to guide the community of ...
