At the end of the quarter for my Aeronautics & Astronautics Engineering course in Aerospace Computer Tools at the University of Washington, each student had to design and animate with SolidWorks a Personal Design Project for an assignment. This is my first time animating and use of SolidWorks. This is my test footage and realized I will increase the frames per second and full frame mode with no compression to improve fluidity for the final design and animation to turn in a couple of days and presentation.

Im going into college for areospace next year! Do you know if the industry still uses solidworks a lot? Im in a cad class

@podman27 Sure do... to be honest, it's a toss up in which CAD to learn. A lot of companies use different ones and sometimes a combination of them. I learned solidworks, but use Pro-E at my company. But... we also import models from all others including Solidworks. Now my company went through a merger and uses both. There is also CATIA and others. So... one thing is for sure, if you learn one descent CAD engineering program, you'll be able to adjust to others with whomever you work for.

@podman27 Most likely, most aerospace engineers work for different companies in their career and will pick up a couple. Good luck and yes, Solidworks is a good one. So is Pro-E.
