Yep, monohull on 27 kts kind doubty, it looks like they are doing about 15 kts. By the way it looks on spray and rocking, also wind seas (chop) would have to be around over 50kts (gale force) for speeds of over 20 kts on a mono...but...looks they are having a great time...

@sjors55: at 0:53 you'll see the 27.1 knot momentary boat speed.
@BenjaminFranklin99: Countless monohulls have done 27 knots or better. Also, surfing refers to peak speeds enjoying the benefit of a wave. It doesn't refer to sustained speed.
@DashewOffshore: You know that your Wind Horse is principally a diesel-powered boat.: a motor cruiser. People seeing just this video and your title for it would rightly be skeptical of an obviously big-interior heavy-built sailboat hitting 27 knots surfing.

At 0:44 you can sea the instruments, it looks like boatspeed is 19 knots, and the wind speed is 26 knots.

347/24 is under 14.5. Granted, that's a very impressive daily average, but as a cruiser I am a little dubious about the 27kt claim.
