Well i actually think that this is a scam. Like with SOPA, the US government told their people about SOPA so they protested and then they signed ACTA because the people did not know about ACTA so they did not protest, SOPA was never a real thing. I think same thing can be going on now, the organizers of this movement could be people from banks to get the people focus away from whats going on in the white house what bills are voted on.
