Nice movement and what a flier - you should get a digital tachometer to measure the rpm - I reckon max speed is well over 1000rpm

look into the lindemann rotary attraction motor .it's a switched reluctance motor that works much like a boost converter (creating a magnetic field and capturing the flyback.. go to energeticforum (dot) com and search for the electric motor secrets thread.. switch a transistor to gives pulses to the solenoids and when the switch is opened It flows from a diode at the negative pole of the solenoids into a battery or capacitor
protect the transistor with a neon across B and E..message me back..
