not my best, or even sufficiently coherent effort.
The point is we need to extort the two-party system in to breaking itself... third parties are a pointless destruction until all dissatisfied voters make the right IRV (instant runoff voting) deal with one of the Devils.

    BOYCOTT!

  • Ah. I see what you're saying. ;)

  • great points...i just think that there is way more oil than OPEC would have us believe. that way they control the price by control the supply. no doubt there is more demand. what better excuse is there to increase the prices per barrel? cheers!

  • Using water to produce hydrogen is not a viable alternative so far, because more energy is needed to seperate them than what you get - so it's like a battery at best. Nuclear looks like the only sufficient supply source tho - initially it will be a very expensive upgrade. Electrical grids, electrolysis stations, electromagnetic radiation regs(prevent cancer increase), etc..

  • Because conventional heating costs and electricity go up in price, goods and food goes up in price, etc - quickly becomes unaffordable. Ppl stop buying and companies go out of business - thus jobs become scarce. Social support will buckle under the pressure. This is the outlook if we don't change our energy source very quickly - in an affordable way.

  • When oil will peak or if it has is questionable, but it's only a matter of logic to understand that the global economy won't be the same if supply can't meet demand. IE: Demand will increase beyond supply so the highest bidder wins. As a result transport and production increases in price. Food production increases in price. Basically everything does because its interdependant.

  • Progress is a rhetorical term used by many people to argue that the future is changing to a 'better' state.

It is expected that everyone knows what progress is when in fact, no one does. This is because people's minds try to identify patterns to find meaning in everything they observe. In my experience, progress is said to occur when some meaningful goal is being achieved. Because nothing is truly meaningful, there is no progress; there is only change.

  • some great points...though i honestly believe that "peak oil" is a myth put out by OPEC. cheers!
