Lynn Miles is an incredible live performer and songwriter. I saw her for the first time this Spring, again in the early summer, and I have NEVER seen a better live performer. Her CDs are masterpieces. Being a singer-songwriter myself, I can appreciate the finer points of that. Hell, I have days when I wish I WAS Lynn Miles! You can't admire another artist more than that.

@pinchandtwist too bad she's not to your taste. Just imagine any other artist (say your faves) and stripping away the production, other musicians, etc. could they really pull off something like this? And her cds just embellish the pure song-writing talents she has. Telling universal truths in her own magical, musical, heart-rending way. Unmatched quality.... too bad for you that you can't appreciate it.

Lynn won the Juno (Canadian Grammy) Award for best Roots & Traditional solo album for UNRAVEL in 2003. She opens up and sings from the heart always hauntingly beautifully and with humor and passion. She's brilliant, but she doesn't play in the US often so see her if you get the chance. YouTube is fine, but connecting with her live is magical. Her voice is better than ever now. (We saw her in Seattle last night. Cosmic.)
