  • Sweet Swirling Onion Rings! O.O

  • @MartianStories - Thanks, glad you like it. In python the lightning algorithm is far to slow for the bge, i'd have to implement it in c and that could be awhile.

  • @funkboxing Okay, cool. I got it working. This is really awesome, funkboxing! Thank you again for making this, this will make my job MUCH easier! You're the man!

Well, I hope you'll keep doing upgrades to this thing. Is there any way to use this in the BGE? Could you have a gun that generates these and then when you use "Record animation to IPO" could it record the gun creating and firing these things? I'm not sure how I'd implement something like that in the BGE. What do you think?

  • @funkboxing Oh! Cool, okay thanks I'll try that. Overall, I think it's great, though. I'm as excited now as I was when I first learned that you had made this. It will make doing my sci-fi space battles a snap! So you've really helped me by inventing it.

Thanks again! I'll let you know when I have some animation up with lightning.

And I think the ragdoll stuff is very neat, too. Can you just replace the ragdoll meshes with another character you've created, and inherit all the movement?

  • @MartianStories - try using the example file (FSLG_EXAMPLE.blend) on the website. This should have material and composite preset for using multi-mesh setting. The cubes are really just for experimentation.

The single/multi mesh create 'edge-only' meshes but you can ALT-C and convert them to curves then take off 'front fill' and 'back fill' and increase 'bevel' to make them thicker.

  • @MartianStories Okay, I tried out the lightning generator and I think it is very cool. But I don't understand how to get the lightning bolts to display in render. I tried making it generate cubes and it did, and they display, but I can't get them to emit or have a lot of light.

I tried putting a particle sim on the bolty ones, but it just shoots a laser beam from the lightning emitter object. Cool, but I still want to make the bolts themselves light up. How do I do that are they a not an object?

  • I was just thinking about you! I was just about to go try the laplacian lightning generator for the first time! I've been so busy on other blender projects I haven't had a chance yet. Anything I should know before I start a new file and start messing with them? I'm psyched, and I'm glad it got in the standard 2.58. Congrats!

This ragdoll setup looks great! You're so awesome with physics. BGE?

But it looks like YOU KILLED YOUR RAGDOLL!, there funkboxing...

Well, I'm off to see the wizard!
