I feel like a lot of people are watching this and getting the wrong idea. No one is saying "it's okay to be fat." No one is saying "feel bad about yourself if you don't look like a model on a billboard." The point is to see that NATURAL beauty is, above and beyond, far more valuable than any other sort, and a lot of women can't see that. Dove evidently wishes they could.

@geogan That is not necessarily true.
When I was in school, boys would often make snide and rude comments about girls looks and it truly hurt them. I've felt it before, myself. They see these beautiful women and suddenly regular women pale in comparison, and, being young boys, their immaturity pushes them to act like they think anybody who isn't Jessica Alba or Megan Fox is unattractive and not worth their time. It's from all sides, and boys feel these pressures too. It's a truly sad situation.

This is an issue but obesity is waaay worse. Kids are getting diabetes that 10 years ago docters only thought adults could get. fat people need to lose weight!

There is nothing more beatiful than youth - these girls look very beautiful to me - obviously people your own age will be more critical because the youthful look is not a factor for them. Also men don't put girls down - other girls put girls down. It's well known fact - boys fight each other physically then forget about it, but girls bitch (ie psychologically damage) someone they don't like.

its sad that society places so much pressure on young developing women to look a certain way, when they should all be playing in mud, without a second thought in regards to their appearance!
