Mark Wynter's British cover version of this song is superior to this and Jimmy Clanton's version!

I adore this song :)

@Olancho61 Jimmy Clanton wrote and sang this song originally.

That sounds like the backing track from Jimmy Clanton's original version. Either that or someone replicated it exactly.

he's not British. Born in Mississippi, died in his 50's. He was well-known and his album with Night Train Records called "Nobody's Child." The sleeve notes tell his whole life story. He was my first cousin but I was a lot younger and lived in California so didn't get to know him well.

I've never heard this veraion before, never heard of this Bbby before either. Hey I like this version better, really! They are so typical of each other I know. It's not the music but it's his voice and how he delivers it, just that much better, but really I like the voice behind this version much better. Is he British?, Jimmy, who I just listen to prior to Bobby is American. It's better...of coarse others will disagree and stand by their man. It was Jimmy up until these past few minuets.

@Ezdduf4kuZ The sleeve notes say that this may be the original New York publishers demo of this song, or an alternate Ace recording that was discarded in favour of Jimmy's.
