I learned on hinges cuffs, you need a paper clip and put pressure on the release

Try it with the key hole facing away from your hands.

@paintballernerd Exactly! Plus we'd put them on between the wrist bone that sticks out and the thumb, not way up on your arm!

It's impossible to unlock hinged cuffs by yourself if you actually put them on correctly... When a law enforcement officer such as myself puts a pair on someone, behind the back, the back of your hands face each other(your palms face outwards, they do not face each other), and the side with the key-hole faces up, making it just about impossible to unlock them yourself, even with the key.
