Jack Casady is my number one bass inspiration. He was the first to play like this in rock music.

I always thought this was one of the finest examples of Jack. I read in the 1968 Gleason book that Jack was really unhappy with his playing on Takes Off and felt like what he did on it only sufficed to the smallest degree. His playing is actually what makes the first album stick out to me.
