TAKE NOTTEEE:: ---To anyone wondering when I mount from the right sometimes—I do this for a couple reasons, first off, I like my horse to be well rounded, and not one sided. Nothing bugs me more than to have a horse I can only work on the left side. Also, think about this a minute. If you were constantly being mounted from the left, getting 100 plus lbs of weight being pulled on your back, wouldnt that start to hurt after about the 2nd time?? Well, in effort to cause my horses back the least amount of stress, I occasionally mount from the right. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to message me, or leave a comment. But, please dont be rude about it.

NOTE:: I have made a newer, updated, revised, and better video to teach you how to ground mount!! Please chceck it out! I think you will enjoy it better. :)

Enjoy! Have Fun! And Be Safe!

  • Good job! I've never managed to do that lol

I agree with you.. wether you handle a horse from the left or the right side shouldn't matter! I mount and lead my horse from whatever side I want, I don't even think about it and neither does my horse xD

  • @sarahkyra Thank you!! lol. I feel like a loner out here cause everyone makes their horses so one sided! My horse and I dont care what side I get on or off, or walk, or do whatever. I just am breaking a new horse into saddle and the first day I was mounting from both sides- she didnt care! I think its just the people are more one sided. ;)

  • For one you are getting on the rong side of your horse

  • @appachelover3423 ...read the description

  • @KatyGirl93 sorry i was looking on my phone it dose not show the description

  • @appachelover3423 No problem. I just have a lot of people who say that. lol.

  • WOW! FINALLY! I have NEVER seen anyone or anything with the name Brenna! That is my name by the way! And This is the first time I have herd it,other than people referring to me obviously! But I find this so cool....finally! Thumbs up if you have herd the name "Brenna" before???

  • @Kitsunegirl1212 Its a situation where rules become more important than the actual ride or ability of horse and rider. You bring up some excellent points in your comment.

think about western riders its required the horse be mounted from both sides.

a little more open minded from the traditional group might benifit the horses and riders regardless of discipline.

  • at 1:34 horse trys to kill grass and fails:(

  • I think when I break in my first horse I'm going to mount and lead on BOTH sides. There is no need to keep it to JUST one side, that's just tradition and has now become something where it's forbidden to mount from the right. What if you break your left leg, or fell off and are stuck on a trail and your only option is mounting from the right side? Mounting and leading from both sides gets them used to either so there's no surprises.

  • TITANIC! :(

    Beautiful horses though!

My horse gets really annoyed when I mount him bareback from the ground. :)

  • @sarahkyra same with me and my horse

  • This was really cute. =) That horse was like "Are you girls getting on or not?"

  • @KatyGirl93 i agree with you...and i hate it when people say its wrong to get on the right side...the only reason why people are so programmed to get on the left is because way back when they used horses for battle they had to get on the left side because they had their swords on that side and they didn't want to hit the horses with them when they mounted...well we dont ride with swords and either side is appropriate for getting on, its better for the horse too

  • I've tried so hard to mount bareback but I could never get it! I'll have to try this way now :)

  • @KatyGirl93 you are completely right far to much is done on the near side of a horse years ago a jockey friend of mine was asking , ever notice when you get dropped ( fall ) you nearly always come of the near side its becuase the horse ducks by nature from the near and you go out the near mostly , yours is the first video i saw that is doing it all round and your totally right XD
