Mendelssohn Octet Part 1

We performed the Mendelssohn Octet at a string camp in the summer of 2007. We had 5 days to prepare it. I think it ended up sounding pretty darn good. I am the first violin in this video. Acknowledgments go to all the other musicians in this great group as well. comment if you like the video!

Awesome! Did you have time to prepare individually before you practiced the piece together for 5 days?

Nope. We sightread all parts on Monday and performed on Saturday morning. We had 3 hours of rehearsal a day. It's a great camp!

this is wicked good for learning it in a week without music before hand. I just played this at a music camp but the music came like a week before camp so we coudl practice it. this is the coolest pice, all the communication and everything that has to go on.

Hey man! You guys sound good! Remember how I was supposed to play in this?!?!?! ahh! But I was in North Carolina this summer viola-ing all over the place - I'll do quartet some year. We'll see. I wanna go to Tanglewood next summer :D yay!
