Christopher Cayari (KRE) helps you learn how to improvise on guitar. Feel free to play along and learn. This is so simple even if it is your first time you can do it. I'm using the e minor pentatonic scale. Lesson 1

  • so.

lets say if i am tryin to improvise the a song.

a key of Am. and right after Am its a D..

so do i try improvise Am and D.??

or just the main key, Am?

  • Either one would be fine. You could use an Am scale and then a D major scale. Or you can stay in the key of Am. That way you create some tension.

  • Dude, that was awesome! I'm still waiting for part 2 though!

  • Some day! I promise.

  • how do you come up with the notes in the first place? do you just use the pentatonic scale?

  • This particular video IS the pentatonic Scale. Yes. Some year I'll get more up.

  • this shit is great man! thanks alot for this..

    rock on!

  • What ever you need!

  • haha........when ever u want..:L

  • hm. Improvisation on any pentatonic scale is a bit simple. Throw in power chords, the two natural shapes, mix it up a bit. add a few little run ups, a few little riffs. improvising is something which you learn as you play guitar more, not a series of notes contained within one template.

  • he is basically playing over a eminor chord with the Gmajor pentatonic scale which gives a nice sound. you can also play an aminor chord with a Cmajor pentatonic scale which is my favorite try it out.

  • if you want more complex sounds, try soloing off of both chords the Am and the D.

for example on the Am you could play Am Harmonic Minor scale and when the transition switches to D you could start playing D minor scale.

but if you wanna solo over all chords, use the A minor pentatonic scale.

  • Thanks man this really did help me because I already knew the e minor pentatonic scale in this position. I've only been playing a few months with no instruction so litle things like this really help.

  • Good lesson!

  • then how to people come wit all this

slides and pull offs and vibrato?

  • Hope it doesn't take two more years!
