O Holy Night - Frank Hernandez

Frank sang again for the first time on Christmas evening for his close loved ones.....after almost 5 years of silence.....not even happy birthday song! It was spur of the moment (we nagged and pleaded and begged...not SOOO spur really)......until he all of a sudden busted out with O Holy Night to shut us all up.

Oh holy HECK! We were gobsmacked! So was Frank....and three days later we had him at Brett Manning Studios so one of their master coaches could evaluate his voice and give us his thoughts. This video was shot in the office studio on a FlipCam.....so the sound isn't the greatest. Frank is SOOOO not happy that we are posting these videos because he feels his voice was very rusty and he is a PERFECTIONIST when it comes to singing. This was the second time he sang a song in the past five years. It was good enough for us common folk....hopefully you'll like it too? I competed against Frank at a NATS competition back in 1991 or 92. I've been waiting for his glorious voice to hit the operatic world. I saw that he studied up in MN with the vocal guru (I can't for the life of me remember his name now!), and during my Masters degree (in Nebraska) we saw a video of him in a study. I was so excited to here him sing a scale with a glorious high B-flat.

Frank, where have you been? I've been waiting to hear you for nearly 20 years! You have a tremendous gift.
