This is a panel discussion following the documentary "A Mind Like Mine". The guests include the filmmaker, Karen O'Donnell, Dr. Timothy Bilkey, a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD, and two young adults who have been coping with ADHD since childhood. One is Karen's son, Kail O'Donnell, and the other is Daniel Desjardins. Both still have ADHD and are coping in different ways with very different outcomes. What accounts for this? Why do we hear so little about adults with ADHD? What is in place to help them in school and in the workplace? How do we help them succeed?

  • It makes me very sad to see others making fun of this most serious issue. I cry every day missing the little girl who is lost sometimes because of this ADHD.

  • I have an 8 year old with ADHD and there are some days I just want to stop. We are doing this without medications and for me it is those times she has a hard time recognizing her behaviors, anxiety, focusing are bad and can't do something to change them that literally drives me bonkers. I loved how Kale said how he assessed his own behaviors. It gives me hope that maybe it can get better for her too.

  • ADHD makes me feel that this is boring.. and i do not understand how these adhd peeps can sit there for all that length of time.. if that were me id be riddling all over the place.. haha

  • is that goofy guy gay or what? i am just wondering !!!

  • It's a great video/discussion, thanks for the upload!

I just have to say the guy with the scarf is a terrible candidate for such a discussion. He might have ADHD, but he's also a complete retard!

  • Yes ADHD gets worse, and if left unrecognized often leads to other mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression, social phobias . . . etc. . . The books Driven to Distraction and 'Healing' Adult ADD are sources that cite this. 7:21 into the video and this Dr. is just pissing me off.

  • I would like to say!.... wait is that a dog?

  • @kylem1112 a lot, if not most, of the innovative research is still coming from the US.

  • Man from an american perspective. Canadians overall seem way more educated, and have outstanding healthcare. Kind makes me feel pity for the u.s, my country :(.

  • Lol. Canadians are funny.
