Consciousness is not "beyond the reach of science", some of it is just beyond our current understanding. Scientists also "searched and searched" (quoting your words) for an explanation for thunder and lightning, as well as disease, and until they found an answer they thought these things were the work of gods or evil spirits. The same will happen with consciousness - science will find an explanation and your superstitions, as well as everyone else's, will no longer be needed to explain it.

Science isnt winning anything. Again the problem that atheists have in their reasoning, which is odd that this man who im guessing claims to be a scientist (smart) also makes, is that because a person is of a particular religion does something wrong it means that religion is wrong. The Bibile doesnt say that a kid having a seizure is possesed. Thus, how did religion fail. Religion isnt a medical handbook last I checked.

@narutoboys9700 The Romans only destroyed some knowledge of the western world such as libraries of Egypt and some other conquered societies, which can at least partially explain why the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese and Indians, etc. were more advanced, might not have been if Romans and others hadn't destroyed so much knowledge.

Religion will disappear from this planet in 2 more centuries, the new generations of the world will make more use of the brains and common sense than some people at the present time, the new generations will learn that religions evolved from myths, tattle tales*, superstitions, if our universe has millions of years of existance, human beings will be able to wait around 200 years. * some tattle tales: Adan and Eve, original sin, some ghosts watching us from the sky, the rainbow etc etc etc etc.
