Montserrat, Spain. Monastery bells begin to ring around 7:20am for about 10 minutes until everybody comes inside for the first mass of the day. One of the most beautiful sounds to wake up to.

Thanks. I also felt that the sound of these bells was pretty amazing and intense. The sound engulfs you, there is a moment of awe, sort of like time staying still as the power of these bells fills the heart with peace. It was really a beautiful moment and made my trip to Spain so much more special.

This is one of my favourite places. I stayed overnight here in the monastery hotel and in the morning was woken by the sound of these beautiful bells - beats an alarm clock any day!

These bells raise the hairs on the back of my head. I visited the monastery and felt like I was ringing for three days. I went back there on my next visit to Spain. Unforgettable!
