@Lukethebeast101 I have an 88 camaro and the flex plate is shit im pretty sure.. Im almost positive its never been changed so is it the same process as this? I heard that you can actually take the flexplate off without removing the tranny. Any help would be great thanks.

Check your mounts, if your flex plate has cracks near the center, your engine or transmission spacing is out of alignment. That or its just a poor quality plate.

@Lukethebeast101 how did you know the flex plate was bad?

@spidez8407 Hah! Was a place my sister worked (fast food rest.) She used to bring a bag of 'em down to the garage. Has a nice ring to it though, don't it.

@bindinglines wuts a whiz burger??

My truck I making this weird dinging sound, coming around the tranny, sounds like there's a Rock in the exhaust. Could it be flex plate making that clicking/ dinging sounds?

You remind me of me at around your age building and racing gassers scrounging for parts etc. I once used a toilet plunger for a shifter boot (black one).......worked quite well. Staying up all night tweaking and timing our cars and towing them to the drag strip 130 mi. away the next day, always dirty and living on whiz burgers. This may or may not apply to you, but you know that once bitten by the race bug it consumes everything.

Thumbs up
my blazer is starting to make a ticking noise by the torque converter, seems louder on the passenger side, you think it could be the flex plate?

@xTravis125x Real easy to check, go under and take a look at the plate and see if you see any cracks even if their hairline cracks it will cause noise and will need to be replaced.
