Disturbing video of a scene in a Cutler Ridge neighborhood the day after Hurricane Andrew. I felt sorry for this man. This particular scene took place at SW 218th Street in Cutler Ridge, FL (South of Miami). Interestingly not long after this, that street was completely leveled and rebuilt by the very company this man was complaining about. I was 5 when Andrew hit and i remember driving around this area with my parents after the hurricane hit and it was upsetting.

  • This is so sad. I was 8 when Andrew hit and I lived in Cutler Ridge right by the old Regal Cinemas that are no longer there. I was young, but at 26 now, I look at how painful and stressful it was for everyone and am so grateful to still have my family. We lost our home and I will never take anything for granted.... :(

  • I was up here in West Palm Beach. I remember watching Channel 4 on TV here and seeing what South Miami area was going through while it just merely drizzled outside up here. That's ok, we got our fair share in mid 2000s.

  • 3 years old when my cutler ridge "deathtrap" of a lennar home was demolished by andrew. My roof entirely caved in in my room. Luckily I evacuated to my grandparents house with my mother..

  • Im from Cutler Ridge, lived there from 1985 to 1993, Our house did pretty well, ill never forget the roofing shingles that were stuck in tree's and houses like shurikens, also the mountains of garbage, the frantic looting, Red Cross coming with fucking coffee in miami august heat, we needed batteries and cold water. They said 50 people died in that, i call bullshit, it was a disaster that was tidied up, who knows how many undocumented cubans and hatians died in the hurricane or were shot

  • I lived off SW 198th Street when Andrew hit with my husband and daughters ages 4 and 7. The roof of our family room caved in while we huddled in the closet. Cutler Ridge Middle school, where I teach became a community center with military troops and feeding stations. My family had to live on an apartment in Kendall. I thought it was the worst thing that could happen to my family. However with God's help and our church community Perrine Baptist - now Christ Fellowship we moved forward - got a n

  • i was there

  • Sad

  • I was in homestead when it hit. My family and I didn't stick around for it. When we went back the whole neighborhood was leveled. Like a nuclear bomb went off. We ended up rebuilding and selling moving into the Florida keys where i am now. It's only a matter of time before another comes back

  • i live in cutler ridge right now but when andrew hit i was not born yet
