Boo eating his fresh corn supplement.
Boo was orphaned when he was just 5 months old, his mother was illegally shot by a poacher leaving behind 3 cubs, one of which could never be found. His mother was shot in front of tourists so he was caught but got away with a very small fine.
Boo was given a second chance at life in a large 20 acre refuge with many of the ecosystems he would find in the wild, he has 4 pools, wetland area, a naturally flowing creek, and both dense and spacious trees to play and hide in.
While Boo has the opportunity to forage for naturally growing berries, grasses, small animals etc., he gets sups to make sure he meets all his dietary needs. However his sups only make up a small part of his diet.
He is never directly fed and we try to throw the food where he can't see us. We want him to find it himself using his excellent sense of smell, this also stops him being lazy and does not habituate him to getting food from us. Boo only eats the yellow part of the corn, just like we do..he leaves the husk.
