@sharing100 yeah I think watching a middle age guy honestly appraising a viral teen star is really rather peculiar.
Anyway I don't really see her having 'done something' as the point. I think the disproportionate reward for what she has done is far more interesting.
There are many, many people who try things and take risks. That she has gleaned such reward for what is essentially failure and our celebration of that is what is so repulsive. What does that say about our notion of success?

Her reward is partly a result of the vilification, and therefore the notoriety, she has achieved.
There are many people, as you say, that take risks. Most fail - even the most successful people have a string of failures behind (and a head) of them. The "failure", in my opinion, is simply the mindset of the haters amongst us.
The "middle aged" statement is, in itself, slightly odd. There is nothing wrong with someone honestly appraising another person whatever the age.
