Since 1937, Sherwood Forest Camp, has served over 30,000 children from the St. Louis area. We have been transforming lives by providing residential camp experiences for children mainly from economically disadvantaged families.
The camp is located one hundred miles south of St. Louis in Lesterville, Missouri on 487 acres. In the Fall and Spring, the facility is used for Outdoor Education by schools, churches and agencies and as a retreat center for those looking for a rustic facility which provides many opportunities for building group dynamics and strengthening leaders. In the summer we provide residential camp services for up to 450 children mainly from families living in poverty in the St. Louis region.

I'm totally going to this camp this summer. I stayed for three days during the school year and fell in love with it. This is the last year I can get in. I was crused when they said they were full but would put me on the waiting list. Fingers crossed that a space open up quick. :D

I love this place! I went to Sherwood Forest for 8 straight summers from 1990 to 1997. I haven't been back since then but I'll never forget all the fun I had. Even still today I tell people about all the things I did there. I'm so glad that I have those experiences. The most memorable experience was my 8 day hiking and canoeing trip. We went into the wilderness and saw not a trace of mankind for 5 days while we hiked many many miles. I'm sending my baby there when she grows up!

What a great video. Brought back so many memories of my 3 years as staff back in '88-'90. Wonderful to see so many traditions have remained constant over the year.
