"Post Mortem" by Jannis Kilian Kreft is an interactive, mutual multi-user dying experience. People enjoy decay, reflect about perishability and talk about a taboo to mankind: Death itself .

A new approach to self-perception:
As soon as you interact with "Post Mortem" you are virtually dead.
You experience what happens to your body within the first 14 days after death when exposed in a warm and humid climate where flies have access to your remains. All displayed in a scientifically realistic way.
You discover how an entire population of flies evolves dynamically from eggs to larva to pupa to fly ,while your virtually augmented body slowly decays - all generated in realtime.
If the table is empty there are no flies! The population evolves alongside the virtually dead and it follows intelligent flocking behaviours and reacts to peoples movements. Up to 8 arms can be placed anywhere on the table...
A bio-scientific transience metaphor.

"Post Mortem" by Jannis Kilian Kreft was awarded with the international CYNETART-prize 2010.
