Shiloh the miniature pony's first time hitched to a cart. He did wonderfully. He is a natural talent, with great teachers :)

  • He was about 40 inches at that time.

  • He is cute for sure, thanks :) Yes, the Chinese Cresteds are my Moms. They are the powder puff type. She just loves them, great dogs :)

  • That is Shiloh's trainer :) She is great. It was his first time on cart, we just wanted to make sure he liked it. He seemed to :)

  • The shafts look to be a good length for your pony but you have shortened the straps that go from the breast collar to the swingle tree too much and that has placed the pony too far back along the shafts and much too close to the cart. The open ends of the shafts are supposed to be level with the point of the shoulder or you could say the front of the horse when viewed from the side, whereas your shafts are a good 6-12 inches infront of this during most of the video. Nice pony, keep driving :)

  • where did you buy your cart? i am looking for a cart for my pony to pull

  • @poohfla The shafts aren't too long, the pony is too far back. You're right about the cart weighing to heavy on the back of the pony

  • I have been driving for 3 years and still learning.

"REALLY " good for the first time.

It looks like the shafts are too far forward and they (shafts) look like they could come up higher . The way they are now, is the weight of the cart is too heavy on his shoulders.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Wonderful! :) Shiloh is too cute.

And I see you've posted some Chinese cresteds, too!!! ^_^

  • What a great team! Congratulations.

Are the shafts a little too fat forward there? I'm only learning about driving myself, but they do seem quite forward.
