STOP SAYING OK!!! OK?

@knivesfishwild That said about the blade being a tad too thick for me generally, it does give good heft and comes with a strong convex. The strong convex keeps the microchips to a respectable minimum. I would say that all knives/steels will pick up microchips & much also depends on the user sometimes. I am also very picky with knives, so slightly above average means a knife is good. I tend to underrate.

@enjoythewildUSA I believe you can check out Bark River too? That is another brand that has some good offerings & one that I have tried. I think every brand has both good & lemon models, and it is subjective too. So going by brand is not enough, but going by the model is more accurate. I cannot recommend things I have not tried, and my opinions can change over time :) if anything, u can PM me too!

@knivesfishwild What other brands would you recommend? I'd appreciate it if you'd advise re your favorites. Thanks!

@enjoythewildUSA I agree that the A1 is very good if you cut/split along the grain. However, my personal issue is that the blade is too thick. If I could only make one change to it, it is a thinner blade. However, I do not think the A1 or Fallkniven should be the "be-all-end-all" brand for you. There are other good knives/brands that you should try and your opinions may change. And like everything, Fallkniven has its cons other than pluses. I would rate the A1 a slightly above average knife :-)

I love my A1. It splits wood like a chainsaw. I'll never buy a brand other than Fallkniven after my experience with this knife.
