I may be a "troll" sometimes, but i want to tell you that your video rocks! I hope that you could make a video that focuses on common vegetables such as lettuce, tomato etc and explain to us the nutrients , minerals , nutrition value , chemical benefits etcetera :)
I'm really glad that you mentioned your business & website today. I'm in the market for a dehydrator & other small appliances. I'm a new fan to your channel & just bought a Vitamix (after seeing you use it to make kale chips) not realizing that you sold them as well. If I'd known before I would've supported your business. Maybe you can include your website @ the end of each of your videos as a reference for people to order through. I love your channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Hello. Thank you for your suggestion. The purpose of the GrowingYourGreens channel is to get people growing, NOT to promote my business on youtube. I felt that if I was overly "commercial" I might turn people off from growing. I have a different YouTube channel called rawfoods that is designed to promote my business, and I do mention my site on that video. Once I have a website, I will have a simple "link" to link to my business. Im kinda "low key" like that.

Great Video John, you are right about certain vitamins etc being lowered when we cook the vegetables, especially for a long time and high heat. Yet, from what I've read some vegetables benefit from some light cooking such as the tomato (well in this case it is really a fruit). I believe more Lycopene is released when it is cooked or makes it more accessible to our body (probably slow and low is best).

Yes, studies have shown that cooking (which breaks open cell walls) makes lycopene more available to our bodies, so the "industry" solution is for us to "purchase tomatoe sauce" in cans. That being said, juicing and blending are alternative ways to break open the cell walls without using heat (which degrades other nutrients). So that is my choice.
