Draft Day: Drew Doughty

Doughty was drafted in the first round, 2nd overall by the Los Angeles Kings at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa, Ontario.

The Kings future is so bright. Dean Lombardi is truly a god sent for this team. He identified what was wrong with the team and has carried out a well thought plan to fix it. He got rid of bad contracts (Camel, Demitra, Visnovsky) and brought in young talent. Even with guys like Kopitar, Brown, Doughty, Johnson and Quick this team can still get better. Bernier, Schenn, Teubert and Hickey are not even playing in the NHL yet.

The Kings will be competitive for years to come, with Chicago of course.

@furball411 Both Ducks and Kings are both good teams. I'm not sure what's up with all the smack talking. However I would have to say the Kings future looks more promising than Ducks. But Ducks won a cup a few years ago, and you can't take that away from them.

Also the up and coming Alec Martinez, please, Anaheims defence is looking good but i still rather have the kings defense. Who are all the experts btw?

@gravino555 Yeah he will, he was tearing up the World Juniors and Finnish Super League. Marc-Andre Bergeron is small with skill so don't go talking shit you don't know. And tell me the Kings D prospects because all the experts say that the Ducks have one of the best D prospects in the league:
