Lt. Ehren Watada does not represent the ENTIRE Asian American community.
I'm Asian American and I would rather go off to fight the war and come home in a box then abandon my men and my country. He is a coward and is NO HERO! When you raised your right hand and vowed to protect and defend the constitution of the United States, you better damn well keep that promise. He broke the promise and he failed to do so. Damn war deserter.
Have you ever heard of Desert Storm? Our troops have been present in the middle east way before the hapennings of 9/11. Once again, quit talking about a topic you know nothing about.
...why are people so ignorant? We were going to go to war before 911, because the UN was going to move in because Iraq wasn't following UN rules, and broke UN resolution 1441...so 911 really had little to do with the war. Pakistan got itself into the war, 911 had little to do with that.
Why are we in Afghanistan then? I also want evidance to prove what you say...not some crap you thought up, just because it's a possibility...
Again...i got facts, i doubt you do...prove me wrong...
If you have facts then you have references right? Post'm. Taliban's (whom associated with Al-Qaeda) foothold was in Afghanistan. They had several training camps located in the country as well as the central leadership of the group. Al-Qaeda (Backed by Taliban) is allegedly responsible of 9/11 which gave America the best incentive to pursue invasion of the country. Wikipedia "Iraq War and Afghanistan War", legit references are all there.
I do have references...look up UN resolution 1441, you could even look it up on wikapedia if you want. Since they broke the resolution, the UN was voting for war already,so the beggining phases were under way already. The attack may of added incentive, but the US was going in anyway, hence why 911 happened. The terrorists tried to scare us out of supporting the war, just as they did similar things to other countries, only France germany and a couple others pulled support cause of the bombs.
The Iraqi's are not happy with US troops being in their country dude. Malnutrition rates have gone up to 28% (19% post-war) theres 5 million kids with no parents, cholera outbreaks from the water, and acts of ethnic cleansings of the sunny islams. All cause of American intervention. Trust me, they're pretty fucking pissed off over there.
That is a wide and way too hasty statement dude. Those percentages and stats are very flawed considering it varies year by year, there were many other events that happened when the US came(along with the UN), so you really don't know why those stats are that way, and it's all speculating as to why those stats are that way. I doubt the US affected their water...and again, you are assuming that the US did all this(though it is a war zone...it's not going to get nicer...)
They're also pissed that they're not allowed a democracy as well. You obviously haven't been to Iraq, or you would know that the general consensus of the people is to have the American troops present to help establish security and democracy. Quit talking out of your ass about a topic you know nothing about.
I got my references from wikipedia (which the references from the site even have their own references), (look up war in iraq/afghanistan) so where are your facts at? Seems like your head is stuck so far up your own ass you can see through your mouth.
First of all, this conversation wasn't directed towards you. Second, the previous facts that I've stated are common knowledge. If you don't know them to be facts then you're more dim witted than you're ignorant comments portray you to be. Third, anyone can post information on wikipedia, I could post an article about your life and your gay escapades, just because that's my opinion doesn't make it to be true. Although I'm sure you are gay.
