hey i live up here and these fish have some wierd tendancies. like the catfish arent easily caught right off the bottom and the smallies get up in some creeks for some reason.

ahhh the waters of doug d'angelo.....great lake to fish, from bailey creeak to hamilton branch over to big springs and all along the peninsula...cant wait to get back someday

Nice fishing, I believe the salmon you caught is actually a Chanook Salmon... Nice fish. I live 45 mins from the lake.

Yes, we were surprised to catch a catfish trolling as well. If I was targeting catfish I would anchor up and put some stinky bait on the bottom.

When trolling I like nightcrawlers on a #6 or #8 hook 12-24 inches behind a Dodger or Slingblade. When drifting or anchored I use just a hook with a nightcrawler, cricket, or meal worm with a split shot a couple feet above it. I let it hit bottom and real a few cranks to suspend it a couple feet.
