Today , 6th January 2010 on the way from work(Blanchardstown)!!!A lot of snow!!! Dublin
-5° C,snow calamity.Cork -2° C,without snow.
The country has not faced a situation like this in 30 or 40 years and this weekends snow offered more worrying possibilities, especially for the east and southeast of the country. Lowest temperatures are expected to be around -10 degrees in places tonight.Gardaí are warning motorists to travel only if necessary, and to reduce their speed in the icy conditions.Local authorities are under increasing strain to keep main roads open as supplies of rock salt reach critical levels.Experts estimate that between 15,000-20,000 tonnes are required to de-ice the roads next week. However, it is expected that the National Roads Authority will have sourced only 10,000 tonnes by Monday.

  • once you get collared into pushing one car your fucked for the rest

  • last winter i travelled 960klm per week in the snow and had no problems in the morning but travelling the same road in the evening due to bad drivers being out it took so long to get anywhere,.

  • Formula 1 engines do not hit the bloody revs some of these cars are hitting .lol

I have been driving high powered motorbikes / cars for years in Ireland and that sort of bad driving goes on everyday of the week, not just when it snows. It is no wonder insurance prices keep climbing. BE AWARE OF BAD DRIVER'S more than likely one of these fools will take your life.

  • @sk93 yeah my bad, realised what you had said when i was out driving lol

  • @Mathewmartialart unless you have a LSD, or both wheels have zero traction, only one will spin... that's how differential gearboxes work.

  • @sk93 my care is 20 years old and my wheels spin with the slightest bit of acceleration on snow/ice.

  • @Mathewmartialart They are lifting the clutch, as you can here the trye spinning madly against the ice, but as they don't have limited slip differentials, only one wheel will spin... which just so happened to be the wheel on the side opposite the camera.

But you are entirely correct in them not knowing how to drive in such conditions.

  • how dumb, a lot of the cars trying to move and using huge amounts of revs, yet its obvious that they are not lifting the clucth otherwise with those revs would come wheel spin, which also tells me they havent a clue how to deal with such conditions .

  • lol @ silver demio 2:11 - more revs = more grip haha

  • I came back here for Christmas in 2009 to see my relatives of course because we were living in Australia and that vid was recorded the day we left Ireland to go to Australia but we have moved back now and loving every single moment of it
