The comic business is estimated to be a $1 billion business annually but it's one of the few media forms that hasn't yet fully transitioned to the digital world. That may change with the coming influx of Apple iPads and sexy new eReaders, as Daisy Whitney reports in this week's New Media Minute. The business of digital comics is also one TV networks are already starting to leverage, including Starz, which created a motion comic for its popular new original TV series Spartacus. For more details, check out this week's New Media Minute.

  • Great points! Interesting what you say about motion comics and that's good to know. I do think this is going to be a fascinating new area to watch!

  • It would be quite cool to see comics pushed into the digital world even farther through the use of an e-reader.

I'm not so sure how much the comic world would embarce the "motion comics". There's only so much you can do with the Ken Burn's effect and clever editing. We really haven't seen that kind of technology being implemented in the online comic world.

Things like "auto-updating" (think Kindle's whispernet) and DVD-type extras (interviews with artists, etc.) would be cool.
