Florals - Part 2 - a reading of a play by Albert Fried-Cassorla
Introduction to Parts 1 and 2 - Florals
This play reading took place at Congregation Keneseth Israel in Elkins Park, PA on October 6, 2011. It lasted 70 minutes without intermission. The actual play script is 72 pages long. The two videos shown here cover pages 1 - 55. We could not record more due to a dying camcorder battery! I do hope you enjoyed the two segments shown here, though. To read the full script, go to:

As noted in our the program book, the people involved were:
Christen Mandracchia is our DIRECTOR and also plays GWYNNETH. She holds a BA in Theater from Ursinus College and is an assistant director at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford and musical theater teacher at Burn Brae Day Camp in Dresher during the summer. She recently designed lights for TLC's the Cake Boss, Buddy Velastro in his Pennsylvania tour as well as the Fringe Festival musical Meat Man. She just finished appearing in the murder mystery dinner theater, Death is a
Shore Thing, where she played Angie, Whole-A, and will soon play Dolly Bill in the James Bond themed mystery You Only Die Once with Random Acts of Mischief Company.
Chris Hill plays MARTY. He is president of Chris Hill Media, a web design firm. He is also on the board of directors of Weavers Way Coop. He has been Albert's friend for more than 30 years. Thank you, Chris!
Tanya Riddick plays NAKIA. She is a teacher of computer sciences at my school, Edison-Fareira H.S. She is articulate and motivated. Welcome, Tanya!
L.Roy Newman, MD plays ALBERT. He is a retired physician of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. He is active on the Board of the Elkins Park Fire Company, an honorary Vice-President of Congregation Rodeph Shalom, a mentor in reading and math of inner city children and a long time former senior ice dancer with his wife and partner, Stevie. In the past, Roy has been a lead player in a dozen amateur theatrical productions.
Caryl Levin is a neighbor of Albert's with a super lively mind and a great personality. She directs the Adult School at Congregation Keneseth Israel. Thank you, Caryl!
Albert Fried-Cassorla is the PLAYWRIGHT and plays CRAIG. He is an English Teacher at Edison-Fareira High School in Philadelphia, a playwright, and a founder of Melrose Park Neighbors Association.
