Based on a true story:
LYRICS
I learned to play the fiddle on Chief Red Bird's violin
A gift to me when I was twenty one
He had long since left this world and it sat for many years
Gathered dust and longed to play again
I could feel those Northern nights
Long lace gowns and smoke filled rooms
I could feel those young brides and young grooms
And hear those old tunes
I learned to play the fiddle on Chief Red Bird's violin
Only wish that I could play like him
Never even met the man but I could feel his soul
Every time I held his violin
When I touched that ancient wood
The past would seem to sing
When I touched that horsehair bow to string
Maybe he was Chippewa, Ottawa or Wyandot
From the Huron, the Iroquois, the Potawatomi
Learned to play the fiddle on Chief Red Bird's violin
Only wish I could play like him
Something seemed so mystical when I held that violin
Smelled the inside of that beat up case
I could just imagine as I watched my clumsy fingers
Dancing gracefully across those strings
He was touched when he was born
With the amber blood of the burgundy maple tree
Anointed by the Autumn dance
When the trees turned gold in 1933
I learned to play the fiddle on Chief Red Bird's violin
Only wish that I could play like him

So surprised to see this. Chief Redbird was my step-father. What a great guy!
Would be interested to see who he gave the violin to and who gave it to you.
Video sure brought tears to my eyes. I still miss him so much!!

This is a special muscian with profound ability to link material elements with spiritual insights to straddle the concept for the Oneness of life and truth. In my eyes, this melding of visions with the material and spiritual senses is what makes an artist's works compelling, nay UNIVERSAL.
May Michael On Fire's works be embraced by a larger segment of humanity. Art has the power to diminish the pain of recent fiscal and economic challenges endured by so many.
