@GDMAZ I've done several that turned out to be totally fine. At worst you'll have to pull a head and replace some valves. I have vids on that and I do them all the time for head gaskets.

Brian:This motor(2.5DOHC) should not have any valve damage if the cam drive pulley broke even though it was running at time of impact? I guess the only way to find out without pulling the motor out and removing the heads is to replace broken exhaust pulley and reset timing- there was no fluids that leaked due to damage, so I 'm lucky there- your thoughts?

@GDMAZ I would fix it for sure!

Nice video yet again eventhough I don't know why is the point of adjusting the valve. Do it have to be done on SOHC or just DOHC. Either way I want to know why the adjusment have to be done. thanks

@goldtinium Valves have to a lot of contact at speed on both the top and also at the valve seat. This causes wear. On wear parts the require precise tolerances some adjustment becomes necessary. The consequence is a noisy valve train and less performance.

hi brian is the procedure the same for a 1997 outback 2.5?

@ejmagras No many of those are the bucket type valves that have shims in them. They are more like the CRF450 valve adjustment video on my channel

@ejmagras I believe that. It just doesn't happen often. I'm on an island by myself here most of the time.
