@Kuwaga1 I just like to pretend that it's the AT-AT Dash Rendar took out.
-
As awesome as it looks, I kinda don't like the idea of putting more destroyed AT-ATs in. IMO, it kinda destroys the feeling that the Imperials are curbstomping the rebels.

The prequels look too fake compared to this, this looks, and thus feels more real because its practical. Its how the eye perceives it. The CGI may look prettier at times, but its just overdone to the point where you sit there watching the prequels and try to find what is and isn't CGI instead of focusing on the plot. In Episode 3, it gets to the point where you cant even look at a scene without at least one CGI element, and that in my opinion is a step too far.

@adywanuk No substance for the prequels my ass.
-
can you add more ATST's to the battle??
-
Notice how the can't harm the Walkers with lasers and even make a point that they are 'too strong for blasters' or something like that, but as soon as one of them trips and falls on the ground they blow it up with lasers two seconds later.
-
why did it fall?
-
I feel that the falling AT-AT is either too large or too close, that it becomes distracting.
-
You have good intentions, but staging-wise, the falling AT-AT draws your eye away from what the shot is all about: Luke getting pulled up to the center's AT-AT belly.
I love all your work, Adywan, but this one has too much visual information fighting for the audience's focus.
-
did the AT-AT fall in the original battle?
No the prequels need to tie in more with the Original Trilogy.

yeh i don't want the Revisited OT saga to become too FX focused. The PT was all flash and no substance where as i want the Revisited saga to have the extra flash but retain the substance. I will be reframing many of the FX shots in the PT to focus more on what you are supposed to be focusing on and not just the flashy CG or model FX
