  • What a wonderful man!

  • At 0:55 it is Heldenleben by Richard Strauss

  • I have recently fallen in love with Georges Pretre. :) It is heartbreaking that he speaks and is translated into another language I don't understand! :D I still enjoyed watching this, though--music and smiles don't need translation. ;)

  • I'm sorry berto41, but in my opinion I was clear as water, just check what I wrote with more attention. I'm seeing that is utterly complicated to you to confirm that there are artistic opinions about musical directors that are not just based upon technique. Best regards from Portugal.

  • What is the music at 0:55 ?

  • berto41, in my opinion Carlos Kleiber was an eccentric genius and the final artistic result doesn´t always suit my preferences. A musician has always two dimensions; he or she is a technician and an artist and all this must have also an artistic evaluation from the public (those considerations are always focus of discussions ... always).

  • Hello berto41. In terms of taste and musical interpretation we're a bit in opposite sides, but that is the wonder of music: you can have 1000 musical directors and 1000 interpretations of the same musical work.

  • Kaiser-Walzer, composed by Johann Strauss II.

  • berto41, that's your opinion, for example it's not mine. Carlos Kleiber was indeed a good conductor, but, in my opinion, the greatest Neujahrskonzert der Wiener Philharmoniker of all time was the 1987's edition with master von Karajan. That was a masterpiece. Georges Prêtre is a greater conductor than Mr Kleiber was (my opinion, just that).

  • What's the music at 1:57
