The theme of this film is sports, man and the environment, or nature to be exact. It was submitted for an Arts Festival in school, and specifically made for our semestral/annual film school in NuStudios. Although we didn't make it for the festival, because they said the storyline wasn't relevant to the theme (man and nature), I was happy with the outcome of our productions. And, even though we all went through a last-minute planning, had limited resources and despite most of us being first-timers, we managed to come up with a film like this.
The actors are parkour practitioners. As a director, I've chosen this subculture sport to showcase the film's theme because personally, I believe parkour is an interdependence between man and his surroundings. I also like the environment's dual purpose for such a practitioner or what they'd call a traceur (traceuse for females); environment can be both an obstacle and a support for him/her.
What are we as humans without and with nature? What is its role in our lives, especially for us urban dwellers? This film tackles that question as two urbanites rush off to a place during their break from work.
