there's a lot of other sci-fi books that i haven't read and thus do not understand. all religion still remains void of reason. it's only function for you is to make yourself feel good about yourself no matter how what you do or how wrong you are, completely freeing you from responsibility of being conscious of yourself

@cherrysmartism But what about those who are not Christians? Does god not love them? Or does he just not love them as much as the Christians? If somebody is born and raised Hindu, Muslim, or Buddhist does that mean that they are less special in the eyes of god?

The problem is everybody thinks that THEIR religion is right and they don't take into consideration that the reason they think that way is because that's what they were brought up to believe.

Without even knowing it you have just revealed the number one tool used by the church to keep people following them and believing their bullshit: fear. Fear and ignorance are the most powerful tools when it comes to power and controlling people. The church has known this for a LOOONG time! There once was a time, centuries ago, when the church ruled with an iron fist.. It's known as the Dark Ages.

I was Christian. Hence my first full read through.

Then I wasn't Christian because of it. I became an agnostic. I read it to try to see the possibility of God...the bible contradicted itself more than any work ever written..and was wrong on so many accounts, so there went my faith.

And then a refresher after that, a few years later to remind me of what was in the book.
