The Saving Energy in DC Schools (SEDS) program continues in Washington schools with the Mid Year meeting. Students at participating schools reported out projects and activities they have already completed as part of the program and began to plan energy conservation projects going forward into the Spring semester. Students are taking leadership positions as concerned citizens, are actually saving money at their schools as part of their energy conservation strategies, are learning across the curriculum, are working cooperatively to solve problems and are having FUN in the process. Service Learning initiatives like this in DC schools are part of the transformation currently taking place in the District.
