Agreed. Funny how I just read that IGN said the soundtrack was lackluster and that "not a single song is memorable"

Yet look at it now, it's one of the most popular OSTs in video game history! IGN = idiots.

While I have to disagree with IGN's assessment of CC not having a single memorable track, they didn't say the music was bad. They said it was very good, but there only track that really brought it down was the normal battle theme. I have to admit, it's not the greatest :-/

Arni Village, Time's Scar, Termina, Dreamwatch of Time, Dragon God, Life- Faraway Promise, Magical Dreamers, People Imprisoned By Destiny... how are these not memorable? Those are memorable within all RPG tracks.

the graphics are obviously the weakest part... the music is one of my favorite soundtracks ever, and only enhanced the game. Saying its the weakest part of the game means that it brought the game down.

@Morbutt such as Xenogears and the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Cross doesn't have a track that stand out above the rest of the tracks in the soundtrack, all though the soundtrack as a whole is fantastic.  Haven't you ever listened to an album that is amazing when you listen to the whole thing from start to finish, but when you select the tracks to listen to, it just doesn't do justice?

@Morbutt That's not what IGN. IGN said, "If one were to want to pick out the area of Chrono Cross that doesn't simply destroy its counterparts, it would have to be the game's music and sound. The soundtrack is by no means bad, as it's one of the best that you'll ever find on a videogame, but it stands as the weakest aspect of this brilliant game." They're saying that the soundtrack is the weakest aspect of the game, but it isn't BAD. They also said that unlike other RPGs of that era...
