Music documentaries from Australia and New Zealand:

This is part 3 of a 1980 feature titled 'New Wave' taken from the ABC-TV current affairs-documentary program 'Music Around Us', which was first broadcast in Australia on the 11th of May 1980.

Reporter Vyvonne Kux investigates the current musical/fashion trend known as 'New Wave' and speaks to (and looks at) the following:

0:00 - David Tickle [International Record Producer; worked on Split Enz's 'True Colours' album]

1:17 - Denise Erdonmez [Music Therapist]

2:52 - The Boys Next Door (probably going by The Birthday Party name by this stage) live at the Crystal Ballroom. Sadly, their live performance has been muted for some ambient music... still, a nice look at a young Nick Cave and regulars at Melbourne's legendary Crystal Ballroom.

7:14 - Danger Dancer [Melbourne New Wave/Post-Punk band]

5:00 - Dr. Alwynne Mackie [Art Critic and Historian]
