No matter how much anybody conserves resources the planet we live on is going to be burnt to a cinder eventually when the sun becomes a red giant. The only way to actually "save' the planet is by using the human brain, which is is the most advanced information processing device in the known universe, to discover new technologies that will allow us to do it. Humans aren't a problem. Humans are the most important resource our planet has for solving problems,

They are the cause of the pollution to get in the ocean, they are responsible for the wars, for the money system, starvation, sweatshop work, animal abuse, corruption, expliotation, forced prostitution etc... they create problems and then have to fix their own shit they created. I dont call that smart.
