Come meet the inhabitants of Jib Camp. A homeless camp in Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C. Fueled by crystal meth, the ... all » inhabitants come alive at night, cycling around the city and park foraging for food, and anything they can trade for crystal. Meet James, self proclaimed jibmaster of the park, and his friendly apprentice ,Ian . Both depending on each other to watch each other's back and to help each other through the rough times. All seen through the eyes of Matt, a youth at risk who lives on his brother's couch, but walks the fine line between addiction and homelessness . Matt has even chosen a hollowed out old growth tree as a future home and seems to look up to Jibmaster James as a father figure. Between the fierce cold of decembers foggy freeze, thieving raccoons, and the parks board we see that being homeless is a full time job. And humiliation is humiliation only when you choose to suffer

  • It's unfortunate that youtube silenced my film. I notice with my other films that use copyrighted music they just put ads on the page. I guess Aqualung just can't be used. Russell.

  • Deep inside, most Americans know why people are homeless. And the truth is that most Americans are just a pay check away from homelessness themselves but they would rather deny it, which may TEMPORALLY make them feel better about themselves. It seems denial is better than cure but in the end, every one seems to fall to the same ditch.

    I wonder why?

  • Ya gotto have respect guys like this. They made a life choice. They dont care about anyone's ideals, they are just trying to be happy. and in the end thats all success realy is. Not everyone can live like this, but, there doing there thing, they are functioning, and i dont see any reason to give them a hard time.

  • @dinod2 i saw this film a couple of years ago and thought it was great. do you think you could edit out the music and post again?

  • It really is too bad it is silenced. I very much wanted to here what they had to say.

  • IF americans weren't so materialistic and irresponsible maybe there wouldn't be such a deception on the homeless. You can tell me "IT's not their fault it's the income taxes or their family was poor they were born with it!" History repeats itself and their families knew this and look what happened. Ancestors knew this and look what happened. The list goes on and on and until you connect the dots and have the ambition to take charge you will all be in the same predicament.

I have live in Vancouver for 40 years.

most people that has mental-illness ( & addiction ) are not born with mental-illness.

it is the human society that push them over the edge, & turn them into drug addicts...
