Find out how the "UV-Abstinence" message possibly caused more harm than good over the past decades - and surprisingly - the alledged link between Melanoma and UV is simply stated HYPE and a MYTH...
If if go to a medspa or go to see a dermo that use the samething a tanning salon has UV light. Why because there are many heath benefits that the sun can do. LED is using wave lenghts of UV spectrum. Mostly all the equipment that dermo's use is powered by some form is using the UV spectrum to heal. So if UV is so bad then should you and the rest of your community be doing studies on the power of darkness and tell everyone to go outside only during the night time?
What you just said makes no since. That would mean that all mice would have it by genetics since that sun has been around way longer than the both of us. With this sunblock stuff come on get real. One SPF is barely regulated and SPF has been proven to break down and get into your skin that can give you harmful side effects. It has been proven that in the south you need 10-15min of unprotected sunlight a day and in the north 20 mins of unprotected sunlight.
I do melanoma research at a major University. I can tell you that the way I give melanoma to my mice is to "give them a tan" in combination with the loss of a particular tumor supressor gene. The UV exposure is the equivalent of a tanning bed for 30 minutes. I only give them 1 dose and 100% of the mice get melanoma after ~90 days. Without the UV exposure, 0% of the mice get melanoma. You decide. (and wear sunblock) Its no wonder the "indoor tanning association" wants you to "get a tan."
