The directors cut is the best cause it plays two recordings on top of each other. One from the studio and the other from Pompeii. Its impossible to tell any difference for about three minutes between the vocals and jams thus proving Floyd's incredible live performing.

I am 52 years old. Big Pink Floyd fan since 1971. Saw this movie when it first came out in 1975 and been in love with this version of Echoes ever since. There is nothing else like it. Simply the best.
