Our budgies Boots (yellow) and Dotty (white) being naughty :)
Funny thing is that Dotty was being sold to us as a female (hence the girly name). But it seems like it's a male after all, won't you think? :D
Filmed with a Canon Digital IXUS 40 (Canon PowerShot SD300 Digital ELPH).
UPDATE 8 December 2007:
Because of the mating you see in the video we now have baby budgies! We have two females (the yellow female seen in the video and another blue female that you can see in the background in her nesting cabin) and both got 5 eggs with our white male budgie. The blue budgie got one baby out of the five eggs but it was already dead when it hatched (probably because she rolled her eggs to much and to hard). The yellow budgie got 4 babies out of the 5 eggs but unfortunately we discovered that the two youngest ones where dead when we checked her nesting cabin yesterday :(. The third and second oldest died today :(. It seems like 4 babies was to much for the young budgie mother who was nesting for the first time. Whe believe she only fed the first hatched and therefor oldest baby, the other baby birds got no food and died of starvation. It's very sad but nature can be harsh.
UPDATE 18 January 2008:
It's going very well with the oldest baby budgie that survived. Some days ago it came out of the nesting cabin and is turning into a healthy, playful and beautiful budgie. He/she has very rare colors for a budgie and looks nothing like it's parents with a black head and yellow, green, blue and black for body colors. We named it Puck and when I have time I will put a new video online about him/her.
