First head this song on Winn Dixie so I thought I'd look it up on you Tube and this is the best recording for now. I hope he puts this on a album.

Beautiful. Dave has a loving way of speaking to us.

idk if you play guitar, and i'm not trying to be a dick or anything, and the strumming pattern definately sounds like s or l, but the chord he bases it off of is the same chord in grace is gone and where are you going.
he likes that chord, nd so do i...

Yes, but only live. It's on the "Red Rocks 2005" set disc number six. I know because for the last two years my now 9 year old nephew always follows me to my car before I leave (after a visit) and asks me to play it for him. This version is short but it's on there. Great song. You should hear the jazz version he sings with "Dave & Friends--that that is AWESOME. Do a youtube search for Butterfly Dave & Friends I believe for 2003. He plays with Tim & Trey.

i wish they would come to boise!! ahh! i'm trying to convince my madre to go to san fran or salt lake to go see em. =D
This is one of my daughter's favorite songs, and I think this is the best recording of it on YouTube. She has me play it for her every morning when she's getting ready for school.
I want to make a video memorial for my son that died when he was only 8 months old, and use this song for it because I feel like he was a butterfly and his time on this earth was like his time in the coccoon, and when he passed... he finally got to fly.

Music is better if someone is listening
